India lifts ban on Onion exports

 

  • India has lifted the ban on onion exports after almost six months.
  • The Directorate General of Foreign Trade set the Minimum Export Price at $550 per tonne.
  • In December last year, the export of Onion was prohibited to ensure adequate domestic availability against the backdrop of estimated lower Kharif and Rabi crops in 2023-24 as compared to the previous year.

  • The 26th ASEAN-India Senior Officials’ Meeting was held in New Delhi.

Nepal to introduce new Rs 100 currency note

 

  • Nepal announced the printing of a new Rs 100 currency note with a map that shows the controversial territories of Lipulekh, Limpiyadhura and Kalapani, already termed as "artificial enlargement" and "untenable" by India.
