• India is likely to host a delegation of Kenyan officials later this month to explore the possibility of sourcing cheetahs from the east African country for the next phase of Project Cheetah.

• Seventh Joint Defence Cooperation Committee meeting between India and Indonesia will be held in New Delhi.
• Defence Cooperation Agreement between the two countries was signed in 2001 and it has now been diversified to include military-to-military exchanges, high-level visits, capacity building and training programmes, cooperation in UN Peacekeeping, ship visits and bilateral exercises.

Whitley Gold Award 2024

• Assam’s wildlife conservationist, Dr. Purnima Devi Barman has been conferred the Whitley Gold Award 2024.
• The award has been given to Ms. Barman for her incredible efforts for the conservation of Greater Adjutant Stork, locally known as Hargila.
• Whitley Gold Award is also known as the Green Oscar.
