Global software major Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Ltd on Monday announced that Tata Sons Chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran will also be its non-executive Chairman.
"Tata Sons Ltd has nominated N. Chandrasekaran as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company in place of Ishaat Hussain from February 21," said TCS in a regulatory filing to the BSE. Chandrasekaran will also assume charge as Tata Sons Chairman.
Prior to his appointment as Tata Sons Chairman, Chandrasekaran, 54, was the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the IT bellwether since 2009."Chandrasekaran will take charge as non-executive Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company," added the filing.
A 54 year old Marathon runner Chandrasekaran is the first non-parsi and non-Tata to lead the conglomerate.
