Centre revises MGNREGA wages

• Ministry of Rural Development notified the new wage rates for unskilled manual workers under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), 2005 for the financial year 2024-2025.
• Goa witnessed the maximum hike of 10.56 percent over the current wage rate.
• Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand registered the lowest raise of 3.04 percent.

Core Sectors Register High Growth

• Ministry of Commerce and Industry said, production of Coal, Natural Gas, Cement, Steel, Crude Oil, Electricity and Refinery Products recorded positive growth in February 2024.
• The combined Index of Eight Core Industries of the country witnessed a three-month high growth of 6.7 per cent in February this year, in comparison to same period last year.
