Key Highlights:

  • Coverage: The report analyses 48,082 aircraft across 129 military air arms (Air Force, Naval Aviation, and Army Aviation) from 103 countries.
  • Indian Air Force Ranking: The Indian Air Force (IAF) ranks 6th among individual military air branches.
  • The final ranking is based on the TrueValue Rating (TVR), which evaluates factors such as technological modernization, logistics support, offensive capability, and defensive capability.
  • Top Position: The United States Air Force (USAF) remains the world's strongest air arm with the highest TrueValue Rating (TVR) of 242.9.
  • India's Position: India ranks 3rd in the country-wise rankings and 6th in the individual air branch rankings.
  • This is the fifth consecutive year that India has ranked above China in the study.
  • China's Position: China ranks 4th among countries and 7th among individual military air branches.
  • The Chinese Air Force and Japan Air Self-Defense Force rank 7th and 8th, respectively.
  • The Israeli Air Force ranks 9th, while the French Air and Space Force completes the Top 10.
  • The United States Navy, Russian Air Force, and United States Army occupy the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th positions, respectively.
