- The 16th India–Japan Annual Summit was held in New Delhi, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India and Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi of Japan participated in bilateral talks.
Key Highlights:
- Date & Venue: 1–3 July 2026, New Delhi
- First Visit of the Japanese Prime Minister: This was Sanae Takaichi's first official visit to India after assuming office as Prime Minister.
- Partnership: The two countries reviewed the India–Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership.
- Total Outcomes: The summit produced 16 major outcomes, including 1 Joint Declaration, 2 Joint Statements, 6 Memorandums of Cooperation (MoC), 5 Memorandums of Understanding (MoU), 1 Exchange of Letters, and 1 commemorative initiative.
