Prime Minister Narendra Modi Visits Kerala

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated various development projects worth approximately ₹11,000 crore in Ernakulam, Kerala.

Key Development Projects:

  • Petrochemical Unit: The foundation stone for a polypropylene unit at BPCL Kochi Refinery, costing over ₹5,500 crore, was laid, which will boost the packaging, textile, and medical devices industries.
  • Highway Projects (NH-66): The six-laning of the Thalapady-Chengala section at a cost of over ₹2,650 crore and the Kozhikode Bypass (Vengalam-Ramanattukara) at a cost of over ₹2,140 crore were inaugurated, strengthening connectivity between Kannur and Kasaragod districts.
  • Energy Sector: The foundation stone for a 50 MW floating solar power project was laid in West Kallada, Kollam district.

New Ride-Hailing Platform 'Bharat Taxi'

  • Responding to a question in the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for Cooperation Krishan Pal informed that the government has launched a new ride-hailing platform, 'Bharat Taxi,' based on a cooperative model, aimed at empowering drivers and ensuring that their earnings go directly into their accounts.
  • He informed the House that this initiative was first announced on June 6, 2025, and the Bharat Taxi Multi-State Cooperative Society Limited was registered, followed by the formal launch of the platform on February 5, 2026.

New Ride-Hailing Platform 'Bharat Taxi':

  • This is an indigenous initiative based on a zero-commission model, unlike private aggregators like Ola and Uber, which primarily empower drivers.
  • Objective: To provide fair income to drivers through cooperatives and provide safe, affordable rides.
  • Model: It is a completely driver-owned network, with no middlemen or commissions.

This project will provide PNG connections to over 8.8 lakh households, supply gas to over 200 commercial establishments, and establish over 201 CNG stations.
  • Inauguration of Lube Blending Plant in Manali, Chennai: The Prime Minister will also dedicate to the nation the 672 thousand metric tonnes per annum capacity lube blending plant of Indian Oil Corporation located in Manali, Chennai. Developed with an investment of approximately ₹1,490 crore, this plant will strengthen India's lubricant production capacity.
  • Inauguration of 89 Rural Roads: He will also inaugurate 89 rural roads spanning 370 km in Tamil Nadu under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, which will significantly improve access to markets, schools and healthcare facilities in rural areas. The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for a Greenfield Bypass near Gangaikonda Cholapuram on NH-81.

Achievements of the Automatic Train Protection System (KAVACH) in the country

  • Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, while answering supplementary questions in the Lok Sabha, informed that five subsystems under the 'KAVACH' (Automatic Train Protection System) are operational in the country, and over 8,570 kilometers of optical fiber cable has been laid so far.

KAVACH System:

Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM)

Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Meeting

ADC-150 Successfully Tested
