'India AI Impact Summit 2026'

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 'India AI Impact Summit 2026' at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, with the theme 'For the Welfare of All, for the Well-being of All'.

Memorandum of Understanding between FCI and WFP

  • The Food Corporation of India (FCI) and the World Food Programme (WFP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the supply of rice to combat global hunger.

Google Announces $15 Billion Investment in India

  • Google announced an investment of $15 billion in India over the next five years (2026-2030).

Country's First AI-Powered School Model

  • Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta launched India's first AI-powered school model.

National Education Policy (NEP):

Reservation for Tea Plantation Tribes and Tribal Communities

  • The Assam Cabinet approved 3% reservation for tea plantation tribes and tribal communities in Class I and II government jobs.
  • "Tea tribes," a term used to describe tribals brought from Central India by British planters, and "ex-tea tribes" (those no longer associated with tea plantations) represent approximately 20% of the electorate in Assam.

Gujarat's Historic Budget

  • Gujarat Finance Minister Kanubhai Desai presented a historic budget of ₹4,08,053 crore for the fiscal year 2026-27 in the Assembly, with an estimated surplus of ₹974 crore.
