Context :
- Uttar Pradesh Finance Minister Suresh Khanna presented the state’s historic budget for the financial year 2026–27, which is approximately 12.9% higher than the previous year.
Key Points :
- Total Budget Size: ₹9,12,696.35 crore (about 12.9% higher than last year).
- Capital Expenditure: 19.5% of the total budget (about ₹1.78 lakh crore), focused on infrastructure development.
- Revenue Expenditure: About ₹5.83 lakh crore.
- Fiscal Deficit: Estimated at 3% of GSDP.
- State GSDP: Estimated at ₹30.25 lakh crore (with 13.4% growth).
- Per Capita Income: Expected to reach ₹1,20,000.
- Provision for New Schemes: ₹43,565 crore for new proposals.

Infrastructure: About 25% of the total budget is allocated for roads, expressways, electricity, and irrigation works.
