Beta Version of MCP Server Launched

- The National Statistical Office (NSO) has launched the beta version of the Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for its eSankhyiki portal.

eSankhyiki Portal:
- It is a centralized platform of the Government of India, developed for the management and dissemination of official statistical data.

The portal is divided into two main parts:
- Data Catalogue Module: This lists the key data assets of the ministry in one place. It includes more than 2291 datasets, which users can easily search and download.
- Macro Indicators Module: This provides time-series data of key economic indicators (such as CPI, IIP, and National Accounts Statistics). It includes features for filtering and visualizing (charts/graphs) the data.

'Bastar Pandum Festival' Inaugurated

- The 'Bastar Pandum Festival' was inaugurated by President Droupadi Murmu in Jagdalpur, the headquarters of the Bastar division in Chhattisgarh.
'Bastar Pandum Festival':
- Format of the event: This festival is organized in three phases: Gram Panchayat level, Block/District level, and finally, the Divisional and State-level closing ceremony.
- Competitions: This year, competitions are being held in 12 cultural categories, with more than 700 artists from 84 teams participating.
- Main categories: Tribal dance, folk songs, traditional cuisine, indigenous musical instruments, handicrafts, tribal drama, and traditional attire.

Agreement between the Central Government, Nagaland Government, and ENPO

- The Central Government, the Nagaland Government, and the Eastern Nagaland Peoples' Organisation (ENPO) have signed an agreement for the formation of the Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority (FNTA).
Relevant Facts:
- Objective of the Agreement: To establish the Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority (FNTA) in six backward districts of Nagaland.
- Six Districts Included: Tuensang, Mon, Kiphire, Longleng, Noklak, and Shamator
- Transfer of Powers: Under this agreement, powers related to 46 subjects (such as land, rural development, agriculture, etc.) will be transferred to the FNTA.
'Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority' (FNTA):
- Why it was needed: This is a historic administrative reform in the history of Nagaland.
- Background: The Eastern Nagaland Peoples' Organisation (ENPO) had been demanding a separate state called 'Frontier Nagaland' since 2010. The Central Government proposed the FNTA under a "unique arrangement" to ensure development without division.
- Administrative Structure: The FNTA will have a total of 49 members. Of these, 40 members will be elected through direct elections, while 9 members will be nominated by the Governor.
- Financial Autonomy: The Central Government will directly allocate the budget to the FNTA for the development of these areas, which will be separate from the state's general budget.
- Constitutional Status: The agreement clarifies that the establishment of the FNTA will not affect Article 371(A) of the Indian Constitution.
- Headquarters: Its secretariat will be established in a major district of Eastern Nagaland (possibly Tuensang), headed by an officer of the Additional Chief Secretary level.
Note: The Eastern Nagaland Peoples' Organisation (ENPO) is the apex body of eight recognized Naga tribes of the six eastern districts of Nagaland.

- For the financial year 2026–27, the Department of Fertilizers has been allocated an estimated net amount of ₹1.71 lakh crore.
