UAE’s President’s Visit to India

  • At the invitation of the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, paid an official visit to India.
  • This was the President's fifth visit to India in the last ten years and his third official visit as the President of the UAE.

Major Outcomes

  • Both nations set a goal to double bilateral trade to over USD 200 billion by 2032.
  • A Letter of Intent was signed for UAE investment in the development of Gujarat's Dholera Special Investment Region, covering infrastructure like an international airport, greenfield port, and smart urban township.
  • UAE firms, including First Abu Dhabi Bank and DP World, will also establish operations in India's GIFT City.
  • A letter of intent was signed to work towards a formal Strategic Defence Partnership Framework Agreement.

  • In a Cabinet meeting, the Himachal Pradesh government approved the establishment of a state-of-the-art Cancer Care Centre at Dr. Radhakrishnan Government Medical College in Hamirpur.

Mamallan reservoir

RBI’s operational guidelines for the Niryat Protsahan

  • Reserve Bank of India (RBI) issued operational guidelines for the Niryat Protsahan interest subvention scheme.
  • It’s a Part of the government's broader Export Promotion Mission (EPM), this pilot initiative aims to lower borrowing costs for MSME exporters by subsidizing interest on pre- and post-shipment rupee export credit.
