India's First Bullet Train to Begin Operations

  • Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has announced that India's first bullet train could begin operations on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail corridor from August 15, 2027.
  • This 508-kilometer-long corridor is based on Japanese Shinkansen technology and will operate at a speed of 320 km/hour.
  • In the initial phase, the Surat-Bilimora section (approximately 50 km) will be operational, which will reduce the Mumbai-Ahmedabad journey time to just 2 hours.

Prime Minister's Matru Vandana Yojana Completes 9 Years

  • The Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) completed 9 years on January 1, 2026, having been launched on January 1, 2017, by the Ministry of Women and Child Development.

Announcement of the creation of 'Kushavati' district: Goa

  • The Goa government has announced the creation of the state's third district, 'Kushavati'.
  • The district is named after the local Kushavati River, which flows through the region.

Launch of the Indian AI Research Organization

Successful Static Ground Test of the Advanced Version of SSLV's Third Stage

  • ISRO successfully conducted a static ground test of the advanced version of the third stage (SS3) of the Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV) at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) in Sriharikota.
  • This test ensures a 90 kg increase in the SSLV's payload capacity.

  • Scientists have developed a novel computational framework called PathGennie.
  • It has been developed with the aim of making disease treatment more precise in the fields of medicine and biotechnology.
