Reduction in Rail Accidents in India

- According to Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, rail accidents in the country have decreased by 90%.
- During 2004–2014, there were 1,711 rail accidents; this number dropped to 31 in 2024–2025, and further to 11 in 2025–2026.

Under Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana

- According to Health and Family Welfare Minister Pratap Rao Jadhav, 1,184 hospitals have been delisted from the Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) due to fraudulent activities.
- Additionally, 411 hospitals have been suspended by various States and Union Territories.

Inauguration of Development Projects in Manipur

- President Draupadi Murmu inaugurated six different development projects being implemented in Senapati district of Manipur.
- She also laid the foundation stone for five other development projects in the district.
- These projects include a model residential school developed at a cost of ₹25 crore, two primary health centres upgraded at a cost of ₹10 crore, and two Bailey bridges constructed at a cost of ₹11 crore.

Madhya Pradesh Declared Naxal-Free

- Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav declared the state Naxal-free following the surrender of two Maoists in Balaghat district.
- The Naxals, Deepak and Rohit, surrendered yesterday in Balaghat. Deepak had a reward of ₹29 lakh and Rohit ₹14 lakh.

30th International Film Festival of Kerala

- The 30th International Film Festival of Kerala was inaugurated in Thiruvananthapuram.
- The opening film, “Palestine-36” by Annemarie Jacir, had won the Best Film Award at the Tokyo International Film Festival. The festival will run until 19 December.
- During the ceremony, Mauritanian filmmaker and renowned African cinema artist Abderrahmane Sissako will be honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
