National News

Renaming of Key Institutions

  • The Central Government has renamed the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) as “Seva Teerth”, all Raj Bhavans across the country as “Lok Bhavan”, and the Central Secretariat as “Kartavya Bhavan.”
  • This move aims to strengthen the spirit of “service over power” and promote good governance.

  • Earlier, the Central Government had renamed Rajpath as Kartavya Path.
  • The official residence of the Prime Minister, earlier known as Race Course Road, was renamed Lok Kalyan Marg in 2016.
  • PMO will function from Seva Teerth-1.
  • Seva Teerth-2 will house the Cabinet Secretariat.
  • Seva Teerth-3 will host the office of the National Security Advisor (NSA).

India’s First ‘Water-Positive Airport’

  • Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI), New Delhi, has become India’s first Water-Positive Airport.
  • Its passenger handling capacity is more than 40 million per year.

Complete Digitization of Ration Cards

  • Union Minister for Food, Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs, Prahlad Joshi, announced that the digitization of nearly 20.58 crore household ration cards across the country has been completed.
  • The government is providing free food grains to beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY), and the scheme will continue till 2029.

Recognition of Startups in India

  • As of 31 October 2025, a total of 1,97,692 startups have been recognized by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).
  • This number has been steadily increasing; till 30 June 2024, 1,40,803 startups had been recognized.
  • These recognized startups have also created over 15.53 lakh direct employment opportunities.

Dakshina Kannada Declared as District Export Hub

  • Under the ‘Districts as Export Hubs’ (DEH) initiative, the Central Government has declared Dakshina Kannada as a District Export Hub.
  • The objective of this initiative is to promote potential export products such as marine products and cashew, thereby strengthening the district’s export capacity and contributing to balanced national development.

14th Edition of Joint Military Exercise ‘EKUVERIN’

  • The 14th edition of the India–Maldives joint military exercise ‘Ekuverin’ commenced in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.

First Annual Bilateral Meeting between ICG and PCG

  • The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG; Filipino: Tanod Baybayin ng Pilipinas) held their first annual bilateral meeting in Manila.
  • This meeting was organized under the provisions of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in 2023.

Indian Coast Guard (ICG):

High-Speed Rocket-Sled Test: DRDO

  • The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has successfully conducted a high-speed rocket-sled test of an escape system developed for fighter aircraft.
  • This test was carried out at a controlled speed of around 800 km/h on the rail-track rocket-sled facility of the Terminal Ballistics Research Laboratory (TBRL), Chandigarh.
  • The test validated the effectiveness of canopy severance, ejection sequencing, and the entire aircrew recovery process.

Dr. Rajendra Prasad

  • The 141st birth anniversary of Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the first President of India, was celebrated on December 3, 2025.
