India International Trade Fair (IITF) Organized

  • The 44th edition of the India International Trade Fair (IITF) was organized from 14 November 2025 to 27 November 2025 at Bharat Mandapam (Pragati Maidan), New Delhi.

Inauguration of ‘Infinity Campus’ in Hyderabad

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the ‘Infinity Campus’ of Indian space startup Skyroot Aerospace, located in Hyderabad, on 27 November 2025.
  • On this occasion, he also unveiled Skyroot’s first orbital rocket Vikram-I, which is capable of launching satellites into orbit.

Approval for Scheme to Boost REPM Manufacturing

  • The Union Cabinet approved a scheme to promote the manufacturing of Sintered Rare Earth Permanent Magnets (REPM) with a financial outlay of ₹7,280 crore.

  • To establish an integrated REPM manufacturing capacity of 6,000 metric tonnes per annum (MTPA) in India
  • To reduce import dependence on countries like China
  • To strengthen the domestic supply chain for critical sectors such as electric vehicles (EVs), renewable energy (wind turbines), defense, and aerospace

Launch of the Fourth Edition of ‘Nai Chetna 4.0’

  • Union Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan launched the fourth edition of the national campaign ‘Nai Chetna 4.0’ against gender-based violence.
  • Under this campaign, 11 central ministries will work together with the objective of preventing violence against women and girls, and promoting their safety, dignity, and economic empowerment.

Unveiling of the ‘Impact Rise’ Initiative

  • IIT Kharagpur unveiled the ‘Impact Rise’ initiative for driving social transformation.
  • This initiative aims to promote scientific thinking, innovation, skilling, and entrepreneurship among youth and students.

Unveiling of bronze statue of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar: UNESCO Headquarters

  • A bronze statue of Dr. Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar was unveiled at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris on the occasion of Constitution Day (26 November 2025).
  • The statue was a gift from the Government of Maharashtra and was crafted by renowned sculptor Naresh Kumawat.
  • India’s Permanent Representative, Vishal V. Sharma, formally unveiled it at UNESCO’s ‘Peace Garden’.

Commonwealth Games 2030

  • India has been formally confirmed as the host of the 2030 Commonwealth Games, which will be held in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

  • The decision was taken on 26 November 2025 during the meeting of the Commonwealth Games General Assembly held in Glasgow, Scotland, where Abuja, Nigeria will be considered for the 2034 Games.
  • This will be India’s second time hosting the Games after Delhi 2010, and it will mark the centenary edition as the Commonwealth Games complete 100 years.
  • It will be the centenary year of the Commonwealth Games.

6th Meeting of the Joint Committee on Consular Affairs: India–UAE

  • The 6th meeting of the Joint Committee on Consular Affairs between India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was held in Abu Dhabi.
  • The meeting reviewed the progress made since the previous Joint Committee meeting held in New Delhi in May 2024.
  • Both countries also agreed to hold the 7th meeting in India in 2026.

World Urbanization Prospects Report 2025

  • The United Nations released the World Urbanization Prospects Report 2025, according to which Jakarta has become the world’s largest city with a population of 41.9 million.

  • Jakarta has surpassed Tokyo.
  • Dhaka, Bangladesh ranks second with a population of 36.6 million, and is expected to become the world’s largest city by 2050.
  • The number of megacities with more than 10 million residents has increased from 8 in 1975 to 33.
  • Asia dominates this report with 19 out of the 33 megacities.
  • These include New Delhi, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Manila, Kolkata, and Seoul.

India’s Economic Growth Rate: IMF

  • According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), India’s economy is projected to grow at 6.6% in the financial year 2025–26.
  • The IMF highlighted India’s Goods and Services Tax (GST) reforms, noting that they will help mitigate the adverse impact of the 50% tariffs imposed by the United States.
In the first quarter of FY 2025–26, India recorded a 7.8% growth in real Gross Domestic Product (GDP), compared to 6.5% in FY 2024–25.

Total Kharif Foodgrain Production in FY 2025–26

  • The first advance estimate for India’s total Kharif foodgrain production in the financial year 2025–26 has been released at 1,733.30 lakh tonnes, which is 38.70 lakh tonnes higher than the previous year.

  • Rohit Sharma has also been appointed as the tournament ambassador for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.
