India’s Foodgrain Production

  • According to Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, India’s foodgrain production has increased by 106 million tonnes over the past 10 years, reaching 357.73 million tonnes in FY 2024–25, compared to 251.54 million tonnes in FY 2015–16.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on a Three-Day Visit to South Africa

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi departed for a three-day visit to South Africa on 21 November 2025.

India Abolishes Sign-On and Sign-Off Requirements

Order to Remove Fake Labels Using the Word “ORS”: FSSAI

  • The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has taken strict action against misleading beverages by ordering the removal of fake labels containing the word “ORS” (Oral Rehydration Solution) from all such drinks.
  • FSSAI clarified that except for WHO-recommended genuine ORS products, no other food or drink item is allowed to use the term “ORS”.

7th NSA Meeting of the Colombo Security Conclave (CSC)

  • The 7th National Security Advisor (NSA) meeting of the Colombo Security Conclave (CSC) was held in New Delhi in November 2025, during which Seychelles was elevated from Observer Member to Full Member.
  • The meeting was chaired by India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, and was attended by high-level representatives from member countries including the Maldives, Mauritius, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh.

Colombo Security Conclave (CSC):

  • A key regional grouping aimed at enhancing maritime and security cooperation in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR).

Support for India’s Permanent Membership in the UNSC

  • UN General Assembly President Annalena Baerbock called for reforms in the United Nations Security Council.
  • She advocated increasing the number of permanent members and expressed support for including India and Germany.

  • Permanent Members (P5): 5 countries (China, France, Russia, United Kingdom, United States) — all have veto power.
  • Non-Permanent Members: 10 countries (elected for a 2-year term).

India–Israel FTA Talks Begin

  • India and Israel signed the Terms of Reference in Tel Aviv to begin negotiations for a Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
  • The Terms of Reference were signed by India’s Minister of Commerce & Industry Piyush Goyal and Israel’s Minister of Economy & Industry Nir Barkat.
On this occasion, Minister Nir Barkat expressed Israel’s desire to partner with India and stated that India is emerging as a powerful nation and will become a major global power in the future.

New Defence Agreement Between India and France

  • India and France have signed a new defence agreement to deepen cooperation in defence research and development.
  • The agreement was signed on 20 November 2025 in New Delhi by Dr. Samir V. Kamat, Chairman of DRDO, and Lt. Gen. Gaël Diaz de Tuesta, France’s Director of National Armaments.

Objective:

  • Both countries will provide a common platform for startups, academic institutions, and small & medium enterprises (SMEs) to jointly develop cutting-edge defence technologies.

Approval for the Sale of Weapons Worth 93 Million USD

  • The United States has approved the sale of weapons worth 93 million USD to India.
  • Under this significant defence deal, India will receive 100 FGM-148 Javelin anti-tank missiles, 25 Light Command Launch Units, and 216 M982A1 Excalibur precision-guided artillery rounds.

Third Largest Donor in Global Humanitarian Aid: UAE

  • The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has been recognized as the third largest donor country in global humanitarian aid in 2025.

  • According to the Financial Tracking Service (FTS) of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA), the UAE contributed around 1.46 billion USD in global humanitarian assistance this year, accounting for about 7.2% of total global aid.
