Explosion near Red Fort

  • On 10 November 2025, around 7 PM, a powerful explosion occurred in a Hyundai i20 car near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station in New Delhi. The blast resulted in the death of 9 people and left several others injured.

Key Facts:

  • The investigation has been handed over to the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
  • The police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and the Explosive Substances Act.
  • The explosion took place inside a Hyundai i20 car.

107th Anniversary of the End of World War I

  • The 107th anniversary of the end of World War I was observed in Puducherry. This day is also known as “Armistice Day” or “Vigil Day.”
  • The commemorative event was jointly organized by the Government of Puducherry and the Consulate General of France.
  • On 11 November 1918, an armistice agreement was signed between the Allied Powers and Germany to end hostilities, marking the conclusion of World War I.

Puducherry:

  • Type: Union Territory of India
  • Capital: Puducherry City
  • Name Change: The name was changed from Pondicherry to Puducherry in September 2006.
  • Meaning: In the local Tamil language, Puducherry means “New Village.”
  • Colonial History: The region was part of French colonial rule for nearly 300 years.

  • UT Formation: It was formally recognized as a Union Territory in 1962.

Inauguration of Vengalayapalem Pond

  • The Union Minister of Rural Development, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, inaugurated the Vengalayapalem Pond spread over 21 acres in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh.

  • The restoration of this pond was carried out at a cost of ₹1 crore 20 lakh.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Visit to Bhutan

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a visit to Bhutan to participate in the 70th birthday celebrations of Bhutan’s Fourth King Jigme Singye Wangchuck.
  • Bhutan’s Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay warmly welcomed him at the Paro International Airport.
  • During the visit, Prime Minister Modi and Bhutan’s King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck will jointly inaugurate the 1,020 MW Punatsangchhu-II Hydropower Project.

  • The 9th round of Foreign Office Consultations (FOC) between India and Chile was held on 10 November 2025 in Santiago, Chile.
  • Both sides agreed to expedite and finalize the ongoing negotiations for the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA).
  • The meeting was co-chaired by P. Kumaran, Secretary (East), Ministry of External Affairs of India, and Rodrigo Olsen, Secretary General, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Chile.

  • Google will establish a large Artificial Intelligence (AI) data center on Christmas Island, located in the Indian Ocean under Australian territory.
  • This project is part of the cloud computing agreement signed last year between Google and the Australian Department of Defence.

42nd Monthly Report of DARPG

  • The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) released the 42nd Monthly Report on the performance of Central Ministries and Departments under the Centralized Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS) for the month of October 2025.

As per the Report:

  • Complaints Received: 138,575 Public Grievance (PG) cases were received on the CPGRAMS portal in October 2025.
  • Complaints Resolved: 144,503 Public Grievance (PG) cases were resolved in October 2025, which is more than the number of complaints received.
  • Pending Complaints: As of October 31, 2025, 66,279 Public Grievance (PG) cases were pending in Central Ministries/Departments.

Inauguration of DPSU building

  • Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh inaugurated the newly constructed DPSU Bhawan at World Trade Centre, Nauroji Nagar, New Delhi on 10 November 2025 and chaired a comprehensive review meeting of Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs).
  • Four DPSUs – Munitions India Limited (MIL), Armoured Vehicles Nigam Limited (AVNL), India Optel Limited (IOL) and Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) were conferred with Miniratna (Category-I) status at the meeting.

Agreement between NIPL and BENEFIT

  • NPCI International Payments Limited (NIPL), the international arm of the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), has partnered with BENEFIT, a leading fintech company in Bahrain, to enable secure and instant real-time cross-border money transfers between India and Bahrain.

Key Facts:

  • Service: This partnership connects India's Unified Payments Interface (UPI) with Bahrain's Electronic Funds Transfer System (EFTS), specifically the Fawri+ service.
  • This collaboration has been established under the guidance of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB).

6th National Water Awards, 2024

  • The 6th National Water Awards, 2024 will be presented by President Droupadi Murmu on 18 November 2025 in New Delhi.
  • These awards are given by the Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation under the Ministry of Jal Shakti.
  • In the sixth National Water Awards, a total of 46 winners (including joint winners) will be honored across 10 categories.

Booker Prize 2025

  • Hungarian-origin British author David Szalay has won the Booker Prize 2025 for his novel "Flesh".
  • Szalay was earlier shortlisted for the Booker Prize in 2016 for his novel “All That Man Is”.

  • This is Szalay’s sixth work.
  • He is also the author of the novels “Spring” and “The Innocent”, as well as the short story collection “Turbulence”.
  • Born in Montreal to a Hungarian father and a Canadian mother, Szalay was raised in London.
