President Droupadi Murmu on a six-day visit to Africa

  • President Droupadi Murmu will be on an Africa tour from 8 to 13 November 2025.
  • She will stay in Angola from 8 to 11 November and on 11 November she will participate in the 50th Independence Anniversary celebrations of Angola.
  • This visit will be the first State visit of an Indian Head of State to both these countries.

First Biennial Conference of BIMREN

Flagging off of Four New Vande Bharat Express Trains

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off four new Vande Bharat Express trains during his visit to Varanasi on 8 November 2025.
  • The new Vande Bharat Express trains will run on the Varanasi–Khajuraho, Lucknow–Saharanpur, Firozpur–Delhi, and Ernakulam–Bengaluru routes.

Vande Bharat Express:

  • It is a semi-high-speed and semi-luxury train
  • Completely designed and manufactured in India
  • Type: Shatabdi-class train with Chair Car and Executive Chair Car
  • Manufactured by the Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Chennai
  • First service started on: 15 February 2019
  • First route: New Delhi – Varanasi

National Conference on ‘Strengthening Legal Aid Mechanism’

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the National Conference on ‘Strengthening Legal Aid Mechanism’ at the Supreme Court on 8 November 2025.

Winter Session of Parliament

  • According to Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, President Droupadi Murmu has approved the government's proposal to convene the Winter Session of Parliament from 1 December to 19 December 2025.
  • This session will run for 19 days during which several important legislative works will be discussed.

SBI Market Capitalization

  • Due to the rise in the share price of the State Bank of India (SBI) on 6 November 2025, its market capitalization crossed the significant milestone of 100 billion USD (approximately ₹8.85 lakh crore) for the first time.

  • Rahul V.S. of India has become the 91st Grandmaster after winning the 6th ASEAN Individual Chess Championship.
