ESTIC 2025 Organized in New Delhi

  • The Emerging Science, Technology, and Innovation Conclave (ESTIC) 2025 is being organized by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) from November 3 to 5, 2025, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
  • The objective of the conclave is to accelerate India’s Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) mission and to position the country as a global innovation leader under the vision of “Viksit Bharat 2047.”

Inauguration of Sohra Tourism Circuit

  • Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia laid the foundation stone for an Integrated Tourism Circuit Project worth ₹233 crore at Sohra (also known as Cherrapunji) in Meghalaya.
  • The project is part of the Prime Minister’s Development Initiative for the North East Region (PM-DevINE).

Strong Comeback of Foreign Investors in Indian Markets – October 2025

  • After three consecutive months of withdrawals from Indian equity markets, Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) made a net investment of ₹14,610 crore in October 2025.

  • FPIs also invested ₹3,507 crore in the Indian debt market during the same month.
  • The total FPI inflow into Indian capital markets in October 2025 stood at ₹18,117 crore.
  • In contrast, FPIs had withdrawn ₹23,885 crore in September, ₹34,990 crore in August, and ₹17,700 crore in July 2025.

  • Lieutenant General Avinash Das has assumed charge as the Commandant of the Army Hospital (Research & Referral), located in New Delhi.

Netherlands to Return Stolen Ancient Statue to Egypt

  • During his visit to Cairo, Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof announced the return of a 3,500-year-old statue that had been stolen from Egypt.
  • The artifact belongs to an official from the reign of Pharaoh Thutmose III and was seized at an art fair in the Netherlands in 2022.

Discovery of an Ancient Temple Linked to the Dilmun Civilization

  • A team of Kuwaiti-Danish archaeologists has discovered an ancient temple dating back to the Bronze Age (around 4,000 years old), associated with the Dilmun Civilization, on Failaka Island, Kuwait.

  • Civilization & Period: The temple belongs to the Dilmun Civilization of the Bronze Age, dating to approximately 1900–1800 BCE.
  • Artifacts Found: Excavations revealed the temple’s foundations, seals, pottery, and other crafted artifacts. The seals are linked to early Dilmun trade and administrative validation.
  • Architecture: The temple’s multi-room layout and central chamber design resemble other religious sites found in Bahrain and Eastern Arabia.

USCIS stops accepting checks and money orders

  • The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has officially stopped accepting payments through checks and money orders for immigration filings.
  • From now on, all fees related to H-1B visas, Green Cards, and other immigration applications must be paid only through electronic payment methods.

Shenzhou-21 Mission

  • China successfully launched the Shenzhou-21 mission, carrying three astronauts and four lab mice (space mice) to the Tiangong Space Station.
  • The mission notably includes Wu Fei (32 years old), China’s youngest astronaut to date.

  • It was placed into a Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO) using the LVM3-M5 (GSLV Mk-III) rocket from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC), Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh.
