Curriculum on AI

  • The Indian Ministry of Education has announced that a curriculum on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Computational Thinking (CT) will be introduced in all schools across India from Class 3 onwards, starting from the 2026-27 academic session.
  • An expert committee, chaired by Professor Karthik Raman of IIT Madras and guided by CBSE and NCERT, is developing the curriculum to align with NEP 2020 and NCF SE 2023.

77 RR Batch of the Indian Police Service

  • Lok Sabha Speaker, Shri Om Birla inaugurated a two-day Appreciation Course for the 77 RR Batch of the Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, organized by the Parliamentary Research and Training Institute for Democracies (PRIDE) in New Delhi.

Legal Metrology (GATC) Rules, 2025

  • The Department of Consumer Affairs, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution has notified significant amendments to the Legal Metrology (Government Approved Test Centre) Rules, 2013.
  • The amendments are aligned with the recommendations of the International Organization of Legal Metrology (OIML) and ensure greater accuracy and accountability in measurement based transactions but also enhance India’s credibility in global trade and standards alignment.

  • The Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DDWS), Ministry of Jal Shakti, organised the second edition of the ‘District Collectors’ Peyjal Samvad’ in New Delhi.

India Granted US Sanctions Waiver for Chabahar Port

  • India has received a six-month waiver from U.S. sanctions for the development and operation of the Chabahar Port in Iran, as confirmed by India's Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
  • This extension secures the project until April 2026 and reaffirms India's commitment to the port's role as a regional trade and humanitarian aid gateway to Afghanistan and Central Asia.
