Employment Growth Situation in India

  • According to the Ministry of Labour and Employment, the number of employed persons in India was 475 million in the financial year 2017-18, which increased to 643.3 million in the financial year 2023-24.
  • Thus, approximately 168.3 million new jobs were created over six years.

The unemployment rate decreased from 6.0% in 2017-18 to 3.2% in 2023-24. In the past seven years, 15.6 million women have joined the formal workforce.

Inauguration of Patna Metro Blue Line

  • Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated the Blue Line of Patna Metro on 6 October 2025.
  • This Blue Line is 4.3 kilometers long, running from Patna Junction to the Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT), and includes three main stations: Patliputra ISBT, Zero Mile, and Bhootnath.

DB Patil Navi Mumbai International Airport

  • Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced that the new Navi Mumbai International Airport will officially be named Loknete Dinkar Balu (DB) Patil Navi Mumbai International Airport.
  • This naming proposal has already been approved by both the Maharashtra State Cabinet and the Legislature, and the central government has also given its approval.
  • D.B. Patil was a renowned farmer leader and social activist who made significant contributions for the rights and rehabilitation of farmers in Navi Mumbai and surrounding areas.

India’s First Child Marriage-Free District

Inauguration of the Country’s First CBG Plant

  • Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the country’s first Cooperative Multi-Feed Compressed Biogas (CBG) Plant at Kopargaon in Ahilyanagar district, Maharashtra.
  • This project involves an investment of about ₹55 crore and will produce 12 tons of CBG per day. Additionally, 75 tons of potash will also be produced from molasses.
