World Food India 2025

Inauguration of Seven New Trains in Bihar

  • On 29 September 2025, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary inaugurated seven new trains aimed at strengthening Bihar’s rail connectivity. These include three Amrit Bharat Express trains and four passenger trains.

  • Canada has listed the Bishnoi Gang as a terrorist organization under its Criminal Code.
  • The Bishnoi Gang is accused of targeting specific communities in Canada, spreading fear and intimidation, murder, shootings, arson, and extortion.

107th Anniversary of the Battle of Haifa

  • The Indian Embassy in Israel celebrated the 107th anniversary of the Battle of Haifa and honored the courage and valor of the Indian soldiers from the then Jodhpur, Mysore, and Hyderabad Lancers who liberated Haifa in 1918.

Peace Plan to End the Gaza Conflict

  • Both leaders held discussions to end the conflict and presented a 21-point peace proposal.

Country's Index of Industrial Production: August 2025

  • The country's Index of Industrial Production (IIP) registered a year-on-year growth of 4% in August 2025, mainly due to a 6% increase in the mining sector.
  • During this period, electricity production grew by 4.1% and the manufacturing sector by 3.8%.
  • Industrial production remained stable in August last year, while mining production declined by 4.3% in August 2024.

  • According to a report by Morgan Stanley, the American multinational investment bank and financial services company, India’s annual growth rate is expected to be 6.5%.
  • Over the next decade, India’s GDP is projected to grow at 6.5%, making it one of the fastest-growing economies in the world.

  • The report states that to maintain a stable unemployment rate with a constant participation rate, an average GDP growth of 7.4% would be required.
  • If the participation rate is gradually increased to 63%, an average GDP growth of 9.3% would be needed to ensure stable unemployment.

India’s Growth Rate: ADB

  • The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has projected that India’s growth rate could remain at 6.5% in 2025 (FY26) and 2026 (FY27).
  • For this year and the next, ADB has slightly revised down the growth rates for developing economies in the Asia-Pacific region by 0.1% to 0.2%.

  • Moody’s Ratings has maintained India’s long-term local and foreign currency issuer rating at Baa3 with a stable outlook.
  • The decision cites improving fiscal metrics and strong growth prospects in India as the main reasons.
