Parcel Train Service from Kashmir to Delhi

  • According to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, a parcel train service will start from Badgam (Kashmir) to Adarsh Nagar Station, Delhi on 13 September 2025.
  • The service aims to connect apple producers from Jammu & Kashmir to major markets across the country.

World’s First Digital Tribal University

  • India has launched the world’s first digital tribal university, "Adi Sanskriti".

  • The Cabinet Committee has approved the doubling of the 177 km single railway line section from Bhagalpur–Dumka–Rampurhat across Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal.

  • Total project cost: Approximately ₹3,169 crore
  • The project will provide rail connectivity to major pilgrimage sites including Baba Baidyanath Dham (Deoghar) and Tarapith Shakti Peeth

Inauguration of Fast Track Immigration Trusted Traveler Program

  • Union Home Minister Amit Shah virtually inaugurated the Fast Track Immigration Trusted Traveler Program at Trivandrum International Airport.

Fast Track Immigration – Trusted Traveler Program:

  • Launch: 22 June 2024, from Terminal-3, Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI), Delhi
  • Objective: To provide passengers with world-class immigration facilities, making international travel smooth and secure

“Never Alone” Mental Health and Wellness Program

  • AIIMS has launched the AI-based mental health and wellness program “Never Alone” to address student suicides.
  • It is a web-based secure app that can be accessed through WhatsApp.

SOP Approved in Assam

  • On 10 September 2025, the Assam Cabinet approved a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the deportation of illegal immigrants under the Immigrants (Expulsion from Assam) Act, 1950.

Immigrants (Expulsion from Assam) Act, 1950:

  • Background: After Independence and Partition (1947), a large number of people from East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) started migrating to Assam and Northeast India.
  • Purpose: To deport those immigrants from Assam who had entered the state illegally.

  • Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, stated that the European Union (EU) is preparing a new round of sanctions against Russia while also increasing military and financial assistance to Ukraine.

Rising Concern over Dengue Infections

  • According to a study conducted by scientists from Washington University, Stanford University, and the US National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), climate change could increase dengue cases by up to 76% in several countries in Asia and America by 2050.

Study Findings:

  • Dengue thrives in a “Goldilocks zone” of temperature
  • The Goldilocks zone for dengue is approximately 27.8°C (82°F)
  • Due to rising temperatures, between 1995 and 2014, an average 18% increase in dengue cases was observed in 21 countries across Asia and America
  • Based on greenhouse gas emission levels, cases could rise from 49% to 76% by 2050

Signing of Technology Transfer Agreement
