Aerial Survey of Flood-Affected Areas in Himachal Pradesh and Punjab
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted an aerial survey of the flood-affected areas in Himachal Pradesh and Punjab.
- Financial assistance of ₹1,500 crore was announced for flood- and rain-affected areas in Himachal Pradesh and ₹1,600 crore for Punjab, over and above the ₹12,000 crore already allocated.

Inauguration of II and III Phases of Godavari Water Project
- Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy inaugurated the second and third phases of the Godavari Water Project on 8 September 2025 at Gandipet, near Hyderabad.
- The total cost of both projects is approximately ₹7,360 crore, and the project will receive 20 TMC of water from the Mallanna Sagar Reservoir.

Agreement between India and Sri Lanka
- India and Sri Lanka signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the construction of an Accident and Emergency Care Unit at the Mannar District General Hospital.

India’s GDP Growth for FY 2025-26: Fitch Ratings
- According to Fitch Ratings’ latest Global Economic Outlook, India has demonstrated strong economic performance amid geopolitical uncertainties.
- Fitch has revised India’s GDP growth forecast for FY 2025-26 from 6.5% to 6.9%.
- India’s economic growth is expected to be 6.3% in FY 2027, slightly declining to 6.2% in FY 2028.

Increase in India’s Solar Open Access Capacity
- India added 3.8 GW of solar open access capacity in the first half of 2025 (January-June), a significant increase compared to the previous year.
- According to Mercom India’s report, this brought the total solar open access capacity in India to 24.6 GW by June 2025.
- In the second quarter of 2025, Maharashtra led the additions, contributing over 30% of total installations.
