‘Fit India – Sunday on Cycle’ Program

  • The ‘Fit India – Sunday on Cycle’ program was organized in the national capital, Delhi.
  • This initiative is part of the Fit India Movement, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which encourages people to cycle weekly and participate in other fitness activities.

Shilp Samagam Fair 2025

  • The Shilp Samagam Fair 2025 commenced on 5th September at Freedom Park, Bengaluru.
  • The fair was organized by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment in collaboration with TULIP (Traditional Artisans Upliftment Livelihood Program).

Announcement of Cashless Medical Facility

  • On the occasion of Teacher’s Day 2025, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced a cashless medical facility for all teachers in the state.
  • Under this scheme, teachers of primary, upper primary, and aided schools, Shiksha Mitras, Instructors, and school cooks will receive cashless treatment.

Cholera Outbreak in Chad

  • Chad is facing a serious cholera outbreak. According to the Ministry of Health of Chad, as of now, 113 deaths have been reported and 1,631 suspected cases have been recorded since July 2025.
  • The first case was reported on 13 July at the Dougui Refugee Camp in the Eastern Ouaddai region, which houses around 20,000 Sudanese refugees.

About Cholera:

It is an acute bacterial disease caused by Vibrio cholerae. Main transmission: Through contaminated water or food.

  • Indian-American Amit Kshatriya has been appointed as the new Exploration-focused Associate Administrator at NASA.
