Inauguration of TDK Corporation’s Lithium-Ion Battery Plant

  • Union Electronics Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw inaugurated TDK Corporation’s advanced Lithium-Ion battery plant in Sohna, Haryana.
  • This plant will manufacture 200 million battery packs annually, fulfilling 40 percent of India’s requirement.

Launch of RERA Portal

  • The 5th meeting of the Central Advisory Council (CAC), constituted under the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016 [RERA], was held in New Delhi.
  • During the meeting, Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs, Manohar Lal, launched the Integrated RERA Portal.

Saras Aajeevika Mela 2025

Directives for Co-location of AWCs with Primary Schools

  • The Government has issued directives to co-locate Anganwadi Centres (AWCs) with primary schools.
  • This initiative is a joint effort of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Women & Child Development, under which Anganwadi Centres will be set up within school premises to ensure smooth and continuous education from Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) to Grade 1.

  • At present, there are over 14 lakh Anganwadi Centres and 9.16 lakh schools with Grade 1 classes, out of which 2.9 lakh Anganwadi Centres are already co-located with these schools.

India–Singapore Agreement

  • India and Singapore signed a significant agreement in the field of civil aviation for training, research, and development.

UIDAI Transaction Growth: August 2025

  • The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) recorded over 2.21 billion Aadhaar authentication transactions in August 2025.

UIDAI Aadhaar & Face Authentication Update – August 2025 :

  • July 2025: Aadhaar authentication transactions – 193.6 million
  • August 2025: Face authentication transactions – 186 million (vs. 60.4 million in August 2024)
  • Cumulative face authentication transactions: 2.13 billion
  • Record Day: September 1, 2025 – 15 million face authentications in a single day (previous record – 12.8 million on August 1, 2025)
  • August 2025 e-KYC transactions: 385.3 million

Introduction of Voluntary Hallmarking

  • The Government has introduced voluntary hallmarking for silver jewellery and other items.
  • This initiative has been undertaken to provide consumers with a digital identity of metal purity, enabling them to verify the authenticity and fineness of the hallmark.

  • The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has issued a new standard IS 2112:2025 for silver hallmarking, which replaces the old IS 2112:2014.

Number of Internet Subscribers in India: As of June 2025

  • Due to broadband growth, the number of internet subscribers in India crossed 1 billion (1,002.85 million) as of 30 June 2025, which is 3.48% higher compared to March 2025.

Inauguration of BMCT Phase-2

  • India’s first vulture conservation portal has been launched in Assam.
