All India Speakers Conference 2025

  • The All India Speakers Conference 2025 was held on 24th and 25th August 2025 at Delhi Vidhan Sabha, New Delhi.
  • This two-day national conference was inaugurated by Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Inauguration of Legal Services Clinics

First Integrated Air Drop Test for Gaganyaan

  • ISRO successfully completed the first Integrated Air Drop Test (IADT-01) for Gaganyaan mission near Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh.
  • This test was conducted to fully test the parachute based deceleration system of Gaganyaan mission, which will play a crucial role in the safe return of the spacecraft.

  • In December 2025, ISRO will launch the first non-crewed test flight (G1) carrying the half-humanoid robot "Vyomitra" into space.

Sourav Ganguly

First “Khelo India Water Sports Festival”

  • The first “Khelo India Water Sports Festival” was organized at the famous Dal Lake in Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir, from 21 to 23 August 2025.
  • In this three-day event, over 400 athletes from 36 states and Union Territories participated, competing in a total of six water sports disciplines — rowing, canoeing, kayaking, water skiing, shikara race, and dragon boat race.

  • Top finisher: Madhya Pradesh, winning 18 medals including 10 gold medals (three silver and five bronze medals)

World Youth Archery Championship 2025

Successful Test of IAWS

  • India has successfully conducted the test of the Integrated Air Defence Weapon System (IAWS) off the coast of Odisha.
  • This multi-layered air defence system has been indigenously developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) using completely indigenous technology.

The system integrates three major weapons:

  • Quick Reaction Surface-to-Air Missile (QRSAM): Targets aerial targets with rapid reaction at ranges of 3 to 30 km
  • Advanced Very Short Range Air Defence System (VSHORADS): Protects against very short-range aerial threats
  • High Power Laser-based Directed Energy Weapon (DEW): Weapon based on laser technology that targets drones and other small targets

CISF’s First All-Women Commando Unit

  • The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has launched its first all-women commando unit with the objective of promoting gender equality.
