Joint Committee of Parliament

  • The Constitution (113th Amendment) Bill, 2025, the Government of Union Territories (Amendment) Bill, 2025, and the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill, 2025 referred these Bills to a Joint Committee of Parliament (JPC) for further scrutiny.

  • Dissolved: After completing its term or task
  • The Parliament determines the composition of the JPC, and there is no set limit on the number of members.

·DEPwD, Nipman Foundation & YLAC signed MoU

  • The Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Nipman Foundation and Young Leaders for Active Citizenship (YLAC) to launch the Breaking Barriers Fellowship, a program designed to place young professionals across DEPwD offices to strengthen policy support and advance the implementation of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPwD) Act, 2016.

  • The Department of Health Research (DHR) and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) inaugurated a two-day regional meeting titled “Health Research and Innovations in Public Health: Exchange of Good Practices across RESEARCH Platform” in New Delhi.

All-INDIA CPI Index Numbers of July 2025

  • The Labour Bureau, Ministry of Labour & Employment, released Consumer Price Index Numbers for Agricultural Labourers and Rural Labourers (CPI – AL & RL) with the base year 2019=100 for the month of July 2025.
  • CPI – AL & RL is increased by 1.23 points to 135.31, while the index for Rural Labourers increased by 1.30 points, reaching 135.66. The Food Index increased by 1.94 points for Agricultural Labourers (AL) and 2.16 points for Rural Labourers (RL) in July 2025.
