79th Independence Day

  • The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi addressed the Nation on the 79th Independence Day from the ramparts of the Red Fort, Delhi.

Mazor Highlights of Speech : 

  • National Deepwater Exploration Mission will be launched to harness India’s offshore energy resources
  • A Task Force for Next-Generation Reforms will be formed, which will evaluate all current laws.
  • India will launch Made in India semiconductor chips by the end of 2025.
  • A major employment scheme - PM Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana, worth ₹1 lakh crore will be launched.
  • To strengthen India’s offensive and deterrent capabilities, “Mission Sudarshan Chakra” will be launched.

Tiranga 5,000 mts below sea level

  • Two Indian aquanauts hosted Indian Flag at a depth of 5,000 mts below sea level in the Atlantic Ocean as part of a collaboration between the National Institute of Ocean Technology and France.

NHAI Launches FASTag

  • The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has successfully implemented the ‘FASTag Annual Pass’ facility at 1 thousand 150 Toll Plazas across the country on 79th Independence Day.
  • The FASTag Annual Pass has been launched with the aim to eliminate the need to frequently recharge FASTag through a one-time fee payment of 3 thousand.

 

India’s long-term sovereign credit rating Upgraded

  • S&P Global Ratings upgraded India’s long-term sovereign credit rating to ‘BBB’ from ‘BBB-’ and its short-term rating to ‘A-2’ from ‘A-3’, with a Stable Outlook.
