- The Updated Income Tax Bill, 2025 was passed in the Lok Sabha on 11 August 2025.
- This bill will replace the 63-year-old Income Tax Act, 1961 and has been introduced with the objective of making the tax system simpler, clearer, and more transparent for taxpayers.

UIDAI Records All-Time High in Face Authentication Transactions
- The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) recorded an all-time high of 193.6 million transactions in July 2025 using its Aadhaar face authentication technology.
