Rollout of IT 2.0 Application

  • Under the India Post Digital Advancement & Modernization Program (IP-DAMP), the IT 2.0 application is being rolled out across all post offices of India Post as an integrated digital platform.
  • This is a major modernization initiative aimed at replacing the old IT systems with an advanced cloud-based platform to make postal, banking, and logistics services faster, more efficient, and customer-friendly.

Base Year of Consumer Price Index Revised

  • The Labour Bureau has revised the base year of the Consumer Price Index for Agricultural Labourers and Rural Labourers (CPI-AL & RL) to 2019=100.
  • The new CPI-AL & RL series (Base: 2019=100) will replace the existing CPI-AL & RL (Base: 1986-87=100) series.

Launch of NSCSTI 2.0

  • Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh launched the National Standards for Civil Service Training Institutions 2.0 (NSCSTI 2.0).
  • NSCSTI 2.0 has been developed by the Capacity Building Commission (CBC).

Inauguration of First Campus of IICT

  • Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting, Railways, Electronics and IT Ashwini Vaishnaw inaugurated the first campus of the Indian Institute of Creative Technology (IICT) at the NFDC Complex in Mumbai, which includes administrative facilities and classrooms.

"Mukhyamantri Vidyut Upbhokta Sahayata Yojana"

  • The Bihar government has decided to provide free electricity up to 125 units per month starting from 1st August 2025. The scheme has been approved by the Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, and it is named the "Mukhyamantri Vidyut Upbhokta Sahayata Yojana".

  • For the expansion of the "Mukhyamantri Vidyut Upbhokta Sahayata Yojana", an additional ₹3,797 crore has been approved for allocation to Bihar State Power (Holding) Company Limited for the financial year 2025–26.
  • Approval has also been granted to provide full financial assistance to Kutir Jyoti consumers (economically weaker households) for the installation of solar power plants with a minimum capacity of 1.1 kilowatts.
  • Other domestic consumers will also receive financial support for setting up solar energy systems.
  • Under the Kutir Jyoti Yojana, poor families will receive complete financial aid for the installation of solar panels.

  • Former U.S. President Donald Trump has filed a defamation lawsuit against the renowned newspaper The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) and its owner, media tycoon Rupert Murdoch, seeking at least $10 billion in damages.
  • The lawsuit pertains to a report published in WSJ which alleged that Trump had sent a lewd letter to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein on his 50th birthday in 2003.
