16th Agriculture Leadership Conclave

  • The 16th Agriculture Leadership Conclave 2025 was organized on 9–10 July 2025 in New Delhi.
  • During the conclave, the Agriculture Leadership Awards 2025 were also presented, in which Haryana was honored with the "Policy Leadership Award".

India Energy Storage Week 2025

  • India Energy Storage Week 2025 is being organized from 8th to 11th July 2025 in New Delhi.
  • It is India’s premier international conference and exhibition, with participation from over 50 countries' representatives, 200+ exhibitors, 1000+ delegates, and 10,000+ visitors.
  • The event focuses on energy storage, e-mobility, green hydrogen, battery manufacturing, recycling, charging infrastructure, and renewable energy.

27th Meeting of the Eastern Zonal Council

  • The 27th meeting of the Eastern Zonal Council was held on 10 July 2025 in Ranchi, under the chairmanship of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
  • The meeting was attended by the Chief Ministers / senior representatives / Deputy Chief Ministers / senior officials of Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal, and Odisha.

Zonal Councils:

‘Saheli Smart Card’ Made Mandatory

  • In Delhi, the ‘Saheli Smart Card’ has been made mandatory for women and transgender persons to avail free bus travel.
  • Until now, free travel in DTC and Cluster buses was provided through Pink Tickets, but this system will now be replaced by the Saheli Smart Card.

Agra’s Integrated Waste Management City: Kuberpur

  • Under the Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM-U), Agra Municipal Corporation has achieved a historic milestone in its mission to create a clean and garbage-free city by implementing the 3R principles—Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.
  • Kuberpur, which was merely a landfill site in 2007, has now been transformed into an Integrated Waste Management City.

Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM-U):

  • Launched: 2 October 2014 (by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 145th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi)
  • Objective: To make urban India clean, open defecation free (ODF) and implement scientific solid waste management

Inauguration of ‘Sindoor Bridge’

  • On 10 July 2025, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated the newly constructed ‘Sindoor Bridge’ in Mumbai, which replaces the old and damaged Carnac Bridge.
  • This bridge connects the eastern and western corridors of South Mumbai and is expected to significantly help in reducing traffic congestion in the area.

Important agreement between India-Namibia

  • India and Namibia signed four important Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) on 9 July 2025 in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Namibia President Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitw.
  • These agreements will strengthen cooperation between the two countries in areas such as health, clean energy, disaster management and industry.

Starlink Gets Approval from India’s Space Regulator

  • Elon Musk’s company Starlink has received approval from India’s space regulator to launch satellite-based internet services in the country.
  • The Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Center (IN-SPACe) has granted permission to Starlink Satellite Communications Private Limited (SSCPL) to provide satellite internet services in India through its Gen1 Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite constellation.

Public Sector Banks

  • In the financial year 2025–26, Public Sector Banks (PSU Banks) are planning to raise around ₹45,000 crore through share sales.
  • This capital will primarily be raised through Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP) and Offer for Sale (OFS)

  • Public Sector Banks are those in which the Government of India holds 50% or more stake.
  • As of 2025, there are a total of 12 Public Sector Banks operating in India.

Gartner July 2025 Report

  • According to Gartner’s July 2025 report, global end-user spending on Generative AI (GenAI) models is projected to reach USD 14.2 billion by the end of 2025.
  • This includes domain-specific language models (DSLMs), a specialized category of GenAI models, on which a total spending of USD 1.1 billion is estimated for this year.

Artificial Intelligence (AI):

  • Artificial Intelligence is a branch of computer science that focuses on developing machines and software capable of exhibiting human-like intelligence.
  • The term "Artificial Intelligence" was coined in 1955 by John McCarthy, who is also regarded as the Father of AI.

Sovereign AI Launch

  • HCLSoftware has launched Sovereign AI with the objective of strengthening government data privacy.
  • This Sovereign AI extension, named Domino IQ, is included in the new version Domino 14.5 of HCLSoftware.
  • It has been developed to secure data within national borders, protect against foreign interference, and ensure information security.

  • Nvidia has become the first company in the world to reach a market capitalization of 4 trillion dollars (USD 4 trillion).

Appointments

Sabih Khan

  • Sabih Khan, an Indian-origin executive, has been appointed as the new Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Apple Inc.

  • He is a prominent voice in Dalit literature, and his notable works such as Akkarmashi (autobiography), Dalit Sahityacha Saundaryashastra (criticism), Chhua-Chhoot, and Dalit Brahman are highly acclaimed in Marathi literature.
