Inauguration of 'National Biobank'

  • Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology, Dr. Jitendra Singh, inaugurated the state-of-the-art Phenome India 'National Biobank' on 6th July 2025 at CSIR-Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology (IGIB), New Delhi.

"One Tree in Mother's Name"

  • Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced that the state government will plant over 370 million (37 crore) saplings in a single day on 9th July 2025 under the campaign "One Tree in Mother's Name" (Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam).
  • This campaign will be conducted with public participation, involving students, farmers, public representatives, government employees, voluntary organizations, and all sections of society.

"One Tree in Mother's Name":

  • Launch: World Environment Day, 5th June 2024, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi
  • Objective: To promote tree plantation as a tribute to mothers
  • Second Phase: "One Tree in Mother's Name 2.0" launched on 5th June 2025
  • Uttar Pradesh has seen remarkable success in this campaign.
  • Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that between 2017 and 2024, the state planted around 2.04 billion (204 crore) saplings, and the forest cover increased from 9% to 10%.

Delta Ranking 2024–25 of 'Aspirational Block Programme'

  • According to the Delta Ranking for 2024–25 under the 'Aspirational Block Programme' in Uttar Pradesh, the development blocks Jalaun and Rampura (both in Jalaun district) have secured the top positions.

FRI System

  • The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has directed all banks to implement the Financial Fraud Risk Indicator (FRI) under the Bank Fraud Risk System.
  • This system has been developed by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and aims to prevent rising cyber and financial frauds.
