Resolution for the observance of Proclamation of Emergency

• The Union Cabinet, chaired by Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi passed resolution on the observance of 50 years since the Proclamation of Emergency.
• The year 2025 marks 50 years of the Samvidhan Hatya Diwas - an unforgettable chapter in the history of India where the Constitution was subverted, the Republic and democratic spirit of India was attacked, federalism was undermined, and fundamental rights, human liberty and dignity were suspended.

ECINET Operations started

• Election Commission of India has operationalised the new digital platform ECINET in the recently concluded bye-elections in the five Assembly Constituencies in the states of Kerala, Gujarat, Punjab and West-Bengal.

MoRD & MSDE signed an MoU

• To realize the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047 and fast-tracking the Lakhpati Didi mission, Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM) under the aegis of Ministry of Rural Development and the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Krishi Bhawan, New Delhi.

198th Board Meeting of IWAI

• The 198th Board Meeting of Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) was held in Delhi.
• For IWT development in the North East, IWAI Board approved the proposal of setting up three tourist jetties in Silghat, Bishwanath Ghat and Guijan and one tourist-cum-cargo jetty in Neamati in Assam.

SCO Defence Ministers’ meeting

• Defence Minister Rajnath Singh attended the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Defence Ministers’ meeting at Qingdao in China.
