"Dharti Aaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan"

  • The Ministry of Tribal Affairs (MoTA) has launched the "Dharti Aaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan" as a historic step towards inclusive governance and last-mile service delivery.
  • This campaign is being conducted across tribal-dominated districts, villages, and hamlets across the country from 15th June to 30th June 2025.

Inauguration of Ayushman Arogya Mandir: Delhi

  • Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated the Ayushman Arogya Mandir located in the Tis Hazari Court complex on 17th June 2025.
  • According to Rekha Gupta, a total of 33 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs and 17 Jan Aushadhi Kendras were inaugurated simultaneously on 17th June.

Ayushman Arogya Mandir:

  • This is the new name of the health and wellness centers developed under 'Ayushman Bharat'
  • Objective: To provide free, accessible and comprehensive primary health services to every citizen of the country
  • Tagline: “Arogyam Param Dhanam” (Meaning: Health is the greatest wealth)

Announcement of Water Metro Service in Patna

  • The Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) organized a consultative workshop in Patna on the development of inland waterway transport on the Ganga River (NW-1) under the Jal Marg Vikas Project (JMVP).
  • During the workshop, Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal announced the launch of a Water Metro Service on the Ganga River in Patna.

  • Function: To develop and regulate inland waterways for shipping and navigation

Support to Suriname's SMEs and Agriculture under the SEEDS Initiative

  • Under the SEEDS initiative (Supply of Equipment for the Efficient Development of SMEs), India has taken significant steps to support small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and the agriculture sector in Suriname.
  • As part of this initiative, India delivered the final consignment of equipment for the processing of passion fruits to Suriname in June 2025.

UPI Agreement: Cyprus

  • India and Cyprus have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to launch Unified Payments Interface (UPI) services.
  • This agreement has been signed between NPCI International Payments Limited (NIPL) and Eurobank of Cyprus, with the aim of enabling cross-border digital payments between the two countries.

Unified Payments Interface (UPI):

  • Launched: 11 April 2016
  • Developer body: National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI)
  • Regulatory body: Reserve Bank of India (RBI)
  • Objective: To facilitate instant, secure and integrated banking transactions on mobile platform
  • Transaction type: Person to Person (P2P) and Person to Merchant (P2M)
  • BHIM App: UPI based government app developed by NPCI (Launched: 30 December 2016)

India's Wholesale Inflation

  • India's Wholesale Price Index (WPI)-based inflation fell to 0.39% in May 2025, marking the lowest level in the past 14 months.
  • The decline was primarily driven by a sharp drop in the prices of food items, especially vegetables, as well as fuel and manufactured products.

Latest PLFS Data [May 2025]

  • According to the latest Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS) data, India’s unemployment rate rose from 5.1% in April 2025 to 5.6% in May 2025.
  • This increase was observed in both rural and urban areas, with the youth and women being the most affected groups.

Ship ‘Achal’ Launched for ICG

  • The ship ‘Achal’, built with over 60% indigenous content, was launched on 16th June 2025 at Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) for the Indian Coast Guard (ICG).
  • It is the fifth vessel in a series of eight Fast Patrol Vessels (FPVs), designed and constructed under the stringent dual-class certification of the American Bureau of Shipping and the Indian Register of Shipping.

Indian Coast Guard :

  • Established on 18 August 1978 under the Coast Guard Act, 1978
  • Formal inauguration on 1 February 1977 as interim
  • Motto : “Vayam Rakshamah” (We protect)
  • Headquarters : New Delhi
