Green Skill-Focused Electric Vehicle Training Program Launched

  • The Central Government, in collaboration with Shell India, has launched a green skill-focused Electric Vehicle (EV) training program.
  • The objective of this initiative is to equip students and teachers with future-ready capabilities in the fields of green energy and e-mobility.

Related Facts:

  • The programme was launched on 12th June 2025 by the Directorate General of Training (DGT), Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) in collaboration with Shell India and its implementation partner Edunet Foundation.
  • It will be implemented in selected Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and National Skill Training Institutes (NSTIs) in Delhi-NCR, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka

.95th Meeting of the Network Planning Group (NPG)

  • Under the PM Gati Shakti initiative, the 95th meeting of the Network Planning Group (NPG) was held to evaluate infrastructure projects in metro rail, road transport and highways, and logistics parks.

New Motto of Lokpal

  • "Empower Citizens, Expose Corruption" is the new official motto of the Lokpal of India.
  • This motto was adopted by the full bench of the Lokpal in June 2025, reflecting the institution’s commitment to promoting citizen empowerment and combating corruption.

‘Nomadic Elephant 2025’

  • The joint military exercise ‘Nomadic Elephant 2025’ between India and Mongolia was held from 31 May to 13 June 2025 in Ulaanbaatar.
  • A 45-member contingent from the Indian Army, including personnel from the Arunachal Scouts—a unit specialized in mountain warfare—participated in the exercise.

Successful Test of 'Rudrastra'

  • On 11 June 2025, a successful test of the hybrid Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) 'Rudrastra' was conducted at the Pokhran Firing Range in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.
  • Developed by Solar Defence and Aerospace Limited (SDAL), the UAV was tested in the presence of the Indian Army.
  • During the mission, Rudrastra accurately engaged the target and safely returned to the launch point.

Rudrastra Drone:

  • Indigenous Development: An Indian indigenous hybrid VTOL (Vertical Take-Off and Landing) UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle), developed by Solar Defence and Aerospace Limited (SDAL).
  • Flight Range: This drone can fly over 170 km
  • Flight Duration: Can stay in the air for about 1.5 hours.
  • Operation: Vertical takeoff and landing from any place without runway

Global Gender Gap Report 2025

  • According to the Global Gender Gap Report 2025 released by the World Economic Forum (WEF), India ranks 131st out of 148 countries.
  • This marks a decline of two positions compared to 2024, when India was ranked 129th.

Vijay Rupani

  • Former Chief Minister of Gujarat, Vijay Rupani, tragically passed away at the age of 68 on 12 June 2025 in a devastating plane crash.
  • He was travelling on Air India Flight AI-171 from Ahmedabad to London to meet his wife and daughter.
  • The aircraft crashed into a residential area near Ahmedabad just minutes after takeoff, resulting in the death of 241 people, including Vijay Rupani. Among the deceased were 230 passengers, 2 pilots, and 10 crew members, along with 24 local residents.
