Basic Customs Duty Reduced on Crude Edible Oils
- The central government has reduced the basic customs duty (BCD) on crude edible oils such as crude sunflower oil, soybean oil, and palm oil from 20% to 10%.
- As a result of this decision, the import duty gap between crude and refined edible oils has increased from 8.75% to 19.25%.
