MoU between DIBD and CRIS

  • The Bhashini Division of Digital India (DIBD) and the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
  • The objective is to develop multilingual AI solutions in 22 Indian languages for Indian Railways.

Basic Customs Duty Reduced on Crude Edible Oils

  • The central government has reduced the basic customs duty (BCD) on crude edible oils such as crude sunflower oil, soybean oil, and palm oil from 20% to 10%.
  • As a result of this decision, the import duty gap between crude and refined edible oils has increased from 8.75% to 19.25%.
