Indian Navy launched a search and rescue operation.
- The Indian Navy along with the Coast Guard launched a major search and rescue operation following an explosion and fire on the Singapore-flagged container ship MV Wan Hai 503 44 nautical miles off the Azhikkal coast of Kerala.
- There were a total of 22 crew members on board the ship, of which 18 were rescued safely. These included 14 Chinese and 6 Taiwanese nationals.
