All party delegation to 32 Nations

  • Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju has announced that seven All-Party delegations (59 MPs) will engage with 32 countries and the EU headquarters in Brussels under Operation Sindoor, reflecting India’s collective resolve against terrorism.

‘Manasvi’ Mentorship

  • The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi hosted a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Mentorship Programme for High School Girls named ‘Manasvi’ in New Delhi.
  • The objective of the programme is to improve the skewed gender ratio in STEM and imbue the girls with the right set of skills and mindset to encourage them to pursue careers in STEM.
  • The STEM acronym was introduced in 2001 by scientific administrators at the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF).

  • Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW) Sarbananda Sonowal unveiled the ‘Sagar Mein Samman’ (SMS), a policy initiative of the Government of India to create a future-ready, gender-equitable maritime workforce with the ultimate aim to increase participation of women in the maritime sector.

National Soil Spectral Library (NSSL)

  • Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, along with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, inaugurated the National Soil Spectral Library (NSSL), which is a pioneering initiative in digital agriculture, developed collaboratively by the Nagpur-based National Bureau of Soil Survey and Land Use Planning (NBSSLUP) and ICAR.
  • With this launch, Maharashtra becomes the first state to have its soil map.
