Banquet for Angola’s President Lourenço

  • President Droupadi Murmu met President of Angola João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço at Rashtrapati Bhavan and hosted a banquet in his honour.

  • India has announced a defence credit line of 200 million dollars (in Indian Rupees) to support the modernisation of Angola’s armed forces.
  • The announcement came following delegation-level talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the President of Angola, João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço, in New Delhi.

  • India has banned the entry of Pakistani ships at Indian ports and also prohibited Indian ships from visiting Pakistani ports.
  • As per Directorate General of Foreign Trade notification, direct or indirect import or transit of all goods originating in or exported from Pakistan shall be prohibited with immediate effect.

HawkEye 360 technology

  • The United States has approved the sale of HawkEye 360 technology to India to boost the country’s surveillance capabilities and enhance India’s maritime domain awareness in the Indo-Pacific region.
  • HawkEye 360 collects and analyses radio frequency (RF) signal location with a constellation of satellites in Low Earth Orbit.

Stratospheric Airship Platform

  • Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully carried out maiden flight-trials of Stratospheric Airship Platform from Sheopur Trial site in Madhya Pradesh.
  • The airship has been developed by Aerial Delivery Research and Development Establishment, Agra in Uttar Pradesh.
