Call for Cooperation from Pakistan – J.D. Vance

  • U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance urged India to respond to the Pahalgam terrorist attack without escalating regional conflict.

India-Denmark Agreement (May 2, 2025)

Punjab-Haryana Water Dispute

  • The Haryana government has called an all-party meeting and decided to approach the Supreme Court to pressurize Punjab over the water-sharing issue.

  • BBMB decision: On April 23, 2025, BBMB decided to give 8,500 cusecs of water to Haryana, which is more than the 4,000 cusecs it is currently getting.
  • Punjab government's protest: Punjab government said that Haryana has already taken more water than the fixed limit
  • Haryana's claim: Haryana claimed that it has received only 60% of the water, the remaining 40% is required
  • Chief Minister Saini's statement: This issue is related to drinking water, not SYL canal

Inauguration of 94 Development Projects in Amaravati

Landing of fighter jets on Ganga Expressway

  • For the first time on Ganga Expressway, fighter jets of Indian Air Force performed unprecedented practice of landing and take-off during both day and night.
  • On a 3.5 km long special strip in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, fighter jets like Rafale, Mirage-2000, Jaguar, Mig-29, SU-30 MKI and transport aircraft like C-130J Super Hercules, AN-32 successfully demonstrated the ability to use the expressway as an alternate runway in times of war and disaster.

This deployment of IOS Sagar includes naval personnel from 10 countries including India, Seychelles, Mauritius, Maldives, Kenya, Comoros, Madagascar, Mozambique, Sri Lanka, Tanzania and South Africa.

  • According to a report by The News International, in the Illicit Trade Index 2025, Pakistan has been ranked 101st out of 158 countries.

‘Enhancing the Competitiveness of MSMEs in India’

  • NITI Aayog released a new report on 2 May 2025 to strengthen the capabilities of the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) sector in the country.
  • The report is titled ‘Enhancing the Competitiveness of MSMEs in India’, and it has been prepared in collaboration with the Institute for Competitiveness.

  • Improving access to credit: The share of micro and small enterprises receiving formal credit from scheduled banks has increased from 14% to 20% between 2020 and 2024. The share of medium enterprises has increased from 4% to 9%
