• Central Board of Direct Taxes, CBDT has notified the Cost Inflation Index, CII for the financial year 2024- 25 for calculating long-term capital gains.
• The CII for financial year 2024-25, relevant to assessment year 2025-26, stood at 363.

Trilateral Summit in Seoul

• Leaders of China, Japan, and South Korea will meet for their ninth trilateral summit in Seoul.
• This is the first summit being held in four years between the Nations.

Jeddah-Makkah High-Speed Rail

• Indian Haj pilgrims will now travel from Jeddah airport to Makkah on high-speed trains, reducing travel time.
• Around 175,000 pilgrims from India are expected for this year’s Haj, with 140,000 arriving through the Haj Committee of India.
