Jallianwala Bagh massacre
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to the people killed in the Jallianwala Bagh massacre in 1919.
- On April 13, 1919, a large peaceful gathering had formed at Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar to protest against the Rowlatt Act.
- The Rowlatt Act, also known as the Anarchical and Revolutionary Crimes Act of 1919, was a law passed by the British government in India during the period of colonial rule.
- The Act was based on the recommendations of the Sedition Committee headed by Sir Sidney Rowlatt.
- Mahatma Gandhi started the non-cooperation movement after the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre.

Principal Purpose Test
- India and Mauritius have signed a protocol to amend the double taxation avoidance agreement (DTAA).
- The amended pact has included what is called the Principal Purpose Test (PPT), which essentially lays out the condition that the tax benefits under the treaty will not be applicable if it is established that obtaining that duty benefit was the principal purpose of any transaction or arrangement.
