PM to launch projects in Tuticorin

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch projects worth 17300 crore rupees in Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu.
• These include the country's first hydrogen hub port, four laning and two laning of several national highways and doubling of railway line.
• He will also launch India's first indigenous green hydrogen fuel cell inland waterway vessel under Harit Nauka Initiative. The vessel is manufactured by Cochin Shipyard.

Centre extends ban on Jamaat-e-Islami

• Centre has extended the ban on Jamaat-e-Islami, Jammu Kashmir for five years.
• The outfit was first declared an Unlawful Association on 28 February 2019.

• In Peru, the government has declared a health emergency due to the rapidly rising cases of dengue fever across the South American country.
• Peru has been experiencing high temperatures and heavy rains since 2023 due to the El Nino weather pattern.

• India and Thailand discussed the gamut of bilateral ties in the areas of strategic, defence, security, trade and investment, pharmaceuticals, connectivity, digital, space and tourism.
• The two countries also exchanged agreement in the field of Ayurveda and Thai traditional medicine.
