Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Bill, 2024

• President Droupadi Murmu has given her assent to the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Bill, 2024.
• The Bill intended to prohibit collusion or conspiracy to facilitate indulgence in any unfair means.
• As per the provisions of the Bill, committed offence will be punishable with imprisonment between three to ten years, and a fine up from ten lakh to one crore rupees.

AHIDF Portal

• Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Parshottam Rupala launched a renewed portal of the Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Development Fund (AHIDF) and also released its Radio Jingle at a function in New Delhi.
• The AHIDF is a Credit Guarantee Scheme to support the livestock sector's Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises without the need of collateral.

APAAR

• Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAAR) is a transformative initiative introduced in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) and the National Credit and Qualifications Framework (NCrF).
• It aims to provide a unified and accessible academic experience for students across India by assigning a unique and permanent 12-digit ID to every student, consolidating their academic achievements in one place.

Defence Ministry Signs Contract with BEL

• Ministry of Defence has signed a contract with Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) for procurement of 11 Shakti Electronic Warfare Systems for Indian Navy.
• Shakti EW System will be installed on-board capital warships of Indian Navy.

45th Chess Olympiad

• Sports Minister Anurag Singh Thakur along with International Chess Federation FIDE president Arkady Dvorkovich handed off Torch Relay for the 45th Chess Olympiad at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi.

National Football Championship

• Arunachal Pradesh will host the final rounds of 77th edition of National Football Championship of Santosh Trophy, 2024.

ICC Player of the Month award

• Shamar Joseph became the first West Indian to win the Men's ICC Player of the Month award.
• Ireland's Amy Hunter claimed the honour in the women's category.
