• In Shooting, Varun Tomar and Esha Singh secured India’s 14th and 15th Olympic quota places, with gold medals in the 10m Air Pistol event of the Asian Olympic Qualifiers in Jakarta, Indonesia.

National Sports Awards

• President Droupadi Murmu will present the National Sports Awards at Rashtrapati Bhavan. 
• Badminton players Chirag C Shetty and Satwik Sai Raj Rankireddy will be honoured with the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award, highest sporting honour of the country. 
• Twenty-six sportspersons will receive the Arjuna Awards. Eight coaches will be given the Dronacharya awards.
• Dhyan Chand Award for Lifetime Achievement in Sports and Games, will be given to Manjusha Kanwar for Badminton, Vineet Kumar Sharma for Hockey and Kavitha Selvaraj for Kabaddi.
