Production of CNG gas and organic fertilizer from stubble in Uttar Pradesh -
Sat 28 Oct, 2023
Context-
- It has been announced to produce compressed gas (CNG) from stubble in Uttar Pradesh, which will provide income as well as employment to a large number of people.
- Along with this, pure organic fertiliser (green energy) will also be produced from the stubble.
Background -
- CM Yogi had released Bio Energy Policy 2022 to encourage bio energy in the state.
- Under this policy a target of large scale investment was set.
- Many big investors had signed MoUs with the state government in the Global Investors Summit, which will now be implemented.
- It is noteworthy that the UP government had set a target of biogas plants in every tehsil, some of which are ready to start soon.
Benefit -
- This will reduce the dependence on petrol and diesel in the state.
- 80 to 100 people will also get employment.
- In these, both skilled and unskilled people will get employment.
- In the plant, not only straw but also a mixture of gases like straw, cow dung, chaff, sugarcane waste, municipal waste etc. is produced from degradable waste like compressed biogas.
- CNG is purified with the help of technology.
- Apart from this, the waste produced in the production of compressed gas will be 100 percent organic.
- This waste will be available in both solid and liquid form.
- Liquid organic fertiliser will be given free of cost to the farmers by the plant for 3 years. These farmers will be identified by DM or CDO.
- This will benefit those farmers who are not able to buy fertiliser, DAP and urea.
- The advantage of organic fertiliser and liquid fertiliser is that it takes only 2 to 3 hours to reach the roots of the trees and plants.
- Along with this, production of organic fertiliser will purify food and also have a positive impact on people's health.
