• Lok Sabha passed the Women's Reservation Bill, seeking to reserve one-third of the total number of seats for women in Lower House and State legislative assemblies. 
• The Bill is called Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam.

• Iran’s parliament passed Hijab and Chastity Bill that would punish and penalize women violating dress code. 
• This Bill will be implemented for a trial period of three years.

GDP growth projection

• Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) has raised India’s GDP growth projection for FY 2024 to 6.3 per cent. It has also revised India’s inflation projection to 5.3 per cent.
