Startup Guidelines dedicated to Technical Textiles

• Ministry of Textiles has approved the Startup Guidelines for Technical Textiles - Grant for Research and Entrepreneurship across Aspiring Innovators in Technical Textiles (GREAT) providing grant-in-aid upto INR 50 Lakhs for upto a period of 18 months.

Elimination of Sickle Cell Anaemia

• Union Minister of Tribal Affairs, Arjun Munda  launched the ‘Awareness Campaign and Training of Trainers’ as a part of the ‘Mission for Elimination of Sickle Cell Anaemia' in New Delhi. 
• Government has declared a mission to eliminate Sickle Cell Anaemia by 2047 in the budget of 2023-24.

India and New Zealand

• India and New Zealand have signed an MoU to boost cooperation in Civil Aviation. 
• MoU includes scheduling of new routes, code share services, traffic rights & capacity entitlement.

India and Kenya

• India and Kenya have agreed to deepen cooperation in maritime security in the Indian Ocean region and joint training in counter insurgency.

Govt Scheme

New scheme for Pharma-Med Sector

• Government will soon launch a new scheme for Promotion of Research and Innovation in Pharma- Med Sector- PRIP with a total outlay of five thousand crore rupees.

Ujjwala Scheme

• Government has decided to reduce the prices of domestic LPG cylinders by 200 rupees per cylinder for all consumers. 
• Ujjwala scheme beneficiaries will get overall subsidy of Rs 400 per cylinder.

BRIGHT STAR- 23

• Indian Army contingent comprising of 137 personnel departed for “Exercise BRIGHT STAR- 23” scheduled to be held in Egypt. 
• This year 34 countries will participate in Exercise BRIGHT STAR- 23.
